About Sree Narayana Guru. (1854-1928)

Sree Naryana Guru , born in south India, Thriruvaathauram, was an embodiment of all virtues, values and rare qualities seldom found in human race.

Guru grew up seeing the pathetic condition of the fellow beings and the inhuman treatment upon them. He wondered around in plains and forests. He learned Vedic Philosophy and Upanishads.

Sree Narayna Guru , instead of remaining in solitude and enjoying the divine bless for himself, opted to utilize the spiritual achievement and wisdom for the humanity.

Guru placed the highest value for, the dignity and self respect of mankind at the highest pedestal above all the religions. He believed that the individual should have the freedom to choose his religion.

Guru gave the golden words to the world, One caste, One Religion and One God for Men.

Religion does not mean sectarianism. It means a belief in ordered moral structure of the universe.” Whatever be the religion, it is enough if man becomes good.” He neither made any religion nor propounded one.

Today everybody speaks of one world, of one humanity, of the essential unit of religion and irrevocable solidarity of mankind. Moe than hundred years ago Sree Narayna Guru had presented his ideal of man as "One in kind, one in religion and one in God".

Guru’s audience was the neglected, hate, hunted and tabooed social pariahs, who saw in him a ray of hope. Guru was a savior of the persecuted masses of the world that toiled and moiled in sunshine and rain to feed, clothe and fatten those high-ups in the society, whose prerogative was, in turn to sin against man’s dignity and self –respect. In the modern era of a shrinking world to a global village, thanks to the information explosion and communication revolution where every man could assemble, work, learn and live in fraternity.

Guru lived with the caring benevolence of a compassionate Bhudha and a loving Juesus.Guru revolutionized the existing social, religious and philosophical system. He made the pariah to believe that they are lower to none.

Sree Narayna Guru realized that the suffering of teeming millions of people of this country is mainly due to illiteracy, ignorance and superstitious belief practiced by them. Guru emphasized the need of imparting value based quality education to all, ultimately to achieve a decent way of life. Guru worked for the emancipation of people through education on social front.
